Workshops & Trainings with Free2b.
Free2b Trainings
Our trainings teach how to be respectful and sensitive to where young people are at in their lives and take seriously their needs and realities. All staff and volunteers running our Free2b Girls programs participate in these trainings, learning how to enable spaces for youth that support freedom and safety at the same time. They are also available for organisations and communities wanting to build capacity to engage with youth and deliver local, youth inspired programs. For bookings and enquiries please contact us -
The Free2b Approach is a 1 day training that shares how to engage with young people based on who they are rather than what adults want them to be. The training is tailored to attendees’ identified needs and concerns in the youth and community engagement space and is run in a way that values story sharing and collective input as the basis for developing realistic and relevant youth inclusion strategies. It offers an interactive experience that teaches adults and organisations in the youth and community sector how to effectively engage with young people and their communities in a way that is sincere, authentic and sensitive to the realities that exist on the ground. It is centred around creating and cherishing rapport, maintaining safety amongst freedom and educating the broader community about the ‘qualities’ rather than ‘deficiencies’ of youth in general. Many attitudinal and generational barriers are broken down during ‘The Free2b Approach’ training so that long term, authentic interaction can be sustained by communities and their young people.

Our policy training is a half day training that shares how to establish meaningful working relationship with Safeguarding Children, Duty of Care, Confidentiality Policies and Codes of Conduct - making it easier to implement them when required. Using Free2b Girls policies as templates we draw upon stories and experiences to inspire interactive engagement with the content and help develop the confidence to use policies in real life situations.
